Swagger is a high energy Irish Rock band out of Park City, Utah. The group blends Irish and Scottish traditional sounds with American Rock, Ska, Funk, Reggae, Jazz, Country & Folk, to create a solid yet experimental sound.
Well known for their lively stage performances the group has enjoyed immediate success since their early beginnings in 2007. In 2008 Swagger released “Trouble on the Green”, followed by the 2010 release of “The Grave”. Several new songs were polished up by the addition of Eric Slaymaker on Tin Whistle & Kenny Gordon on Keyboards. 2 new live videos have also been added to a new website & logo.
During the winter months the lads can be found pumping out their infectious brand of Celtic Rock at popular ski resorts in Park City, Sun Valley, Jackson Hole & The Grand Targhee Ski Resort. Annual events for the band include the Sundance Film Festival, Boise Highland Games, Deer Valley Concerts Series, Las Vegas Casinos & festivals across the mid-mountain west. The group organized Utah’s 1st. Irish Music Festival at Deer Valley & kicked it off with The Young Dubliners as their headliner. Plans are in the works for the 2nd annual in 2011.

Brian Thurber presents Texas swing or contest style fiddling which has its roots in the juke joints and roadhouses of the pre WWII southwest. Many of the basic melodies go back hundreds of years, but the chords that back up the tunes are modern swing chords. He also includes bluegrass, Celtic and contra dance music. Brian Thurber studied classical violin and started playing bluegrass and old fiddle tunes when he moved to Whatcom County in the 1970s. He has played in several local groups and currently plays with Katz and Dogz and the Dunton Sisters.
