Stacey Board will be playing the Downtown Farmers Market!
Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Stacey Board was born in Decatur, AL. She began singing as a small child, and is mostly self-taught, though she did take some voice lessons and a little classical guitar training. Board wrote her first song when she was a teenager. Around that same time, when she was about 16, a dare to sing on the sidewalk outside of a local radio station — which she jokingly counts as her debut public appearance — landed her a membership in her first band.
Now, my base of operations is again Utah, having relocated there after my mother’s death several years ago, to be closer to Karen’s family and help care for her ailing mother. Karen decided at this point that she did not care to actively perform live any longer and that wanted devote herself to other pursuits. Not wanting to be creatively idle, I continued to write, record, and perform my music live. I have returned to my love of the blues and have recorded a couple more CDs of original blues and jazz tunes—“Blue Mundy (Part 1)” and “Blue Mundy (Part2)”—with my new performing group, “RANDY MUNDY & THE MUNDY MOURNING BLUES BAND”. I am currently working on a third blues and jazz CD, which I hope to release later this year. Life is good when you can do what you love.

Winners of the 2009 Posty for “Best Utah Rock Band”, The Wayne Hoskins Band has spent the last two years focused on writing and recording their music, as well as performing at featured venues around the Western United States.
Formed in 2008, band members Dustin, Dave, Mike, Carl and Eric combine to create music from beautifully powerful rock choruses in songs like “Something Better” to epic ballads like “I’ll Be Right Here”…the band has captured the attention of a large fanbase of passionate music lovers and classic rock enthusiasts. Dustin’s vocals and lyrics give listeners a window into themselves and shed light on music and emotion. Conceptually simple, the greatest element of The Wayne’s efforts is the chemistry of the musicians.
The Wayne’s resume includes live performances at THE SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL, two invitations to the exclusive Acoustic All Stars Festival in Park City, Utah, the Promenade Music Festival in Boise, Idaho and the Project Green River Music Festival. The Wayne was also a featured artist at the Utah State Fair.
Most recently, The Wayne Hoskins Band performed with SAFETYSUIT, as seen on VH1’s Top 20 Countdown, to a crowd of over 1,000+ excited fans. One fan had this to say about the show: “The Wayne Hoskins Band was AMAZING! I really enjoyed their music!” (–Ashlee from Provo, Utah)
Influenced by The Frames, Justin Currie and Todd Thibaud, The Wayne falls into a cross-genre; compared to Counting Crows, Ray LaMontagne, The Fray, Lifehouse and Daughtry, the best way to describe The Wayne might simply be – classically good.
The EP “Breaking Here” will be released NOVEMBER 13th under the ROCKFISH RECORD COMPANY label; with a SOLD OUT party to kickoff the music!
Fans are already looking forward to The Wayne’s FULL-LENGTH STUDIO ALBUM, set to release in SPRING of 2011.
THE WAYNE HOSKINS BAND – ORIGINAL SOUL, CLASSIC SOUND…
As young as she is, she has a voice that strikes of maturity and season. Beginning her career in a singing and dancing group, McKail was often chosen to perform as a soloist because of her strong range and distinctive style. Moving away from the group setting in the last year, she has chosen to pursue a career as a solo artist. In a recent talent search, the judge said of her, “She has great eyes and a wonderful smile and knows how to use both to her advantage.”
McKail picked up the guitar for the first time in the past year to begin writing her own original songs. Her talent on the guitar shone quickly as she began to perform just a few months after beginning, playing like someone who has been taking guitar for a few years, with fingering and chording that is indicative of those who have been playing for more than just a few months. Her performance and style has settled in nicely with her making a choice to play her own music.

Melody and Tyler had quite a background in music even before getting together. Tyler was the drummer in a once popular local band called Blind Iris, which was based out of Logan and seemed very close to a break through career. They competed and placed in several competitions, and after their debut self-titled album, they were honored with a song placement on the Tony Hawk Underground game. Tyler has been in several bands as well, including Eggs Blackstone, and a brief stint in Exploding Hybrid. Since his drumming days, Tyler has taken up playing the acoustic guitar and singing with Melody. .
Melody has been playing guitar since high school where she did several talent shows, and contests. She began writing music at age 13 and worked her way from piano to guitar at age 16. With a sound similar to Sarah McLaughlin (a huge influence) she played solo for several years all over Cache Valley, UT (surprisingly, all at the same time as Tyler and the two never meeting). Melody moved throughout the North West for a few years before eventually moving back to Utah in 2007, she had decided it was time to get serious with her music.
Tyler’s band decided to part ways only months before and the timing was perfect. They met at an open mic, and it wasn’t long before they started performing together. In October 2007, they moved from Logan to Salt Lake City, and by January 2009 they were performing on a regular basis, often every weekend. While performing at various venues and seeing the wide range of talent around them, they realized that it was time to do something different to help the music scene.
They founded the Acoustic All-Stars Festival in Park City (Now working on the 3rd year). Due to its quick success, they were honored with a feature and cover story in InThisWeek magazine, a feature in the Park Record Newspaper, and several influential friendships.
Melody and Tyler Forsberg have been fortunate in their careers being included in such festivals as Earth Jam, Park Silly, and Sugarhouse arts Festival, Performing at The Star Bar during Sundance, and the Utah State Fair, and Recently had the honor to open for J.R. Richards of Dishwalla for a benefit concert for Hannah Laursen, an 8 year old girl with cancer.
They will be beginning recording for their first Duo album in February 2010 and have sold over 300 copies of Melody’s album “Finally” in the past year without any store placement, mainly from show sales. They are consistently booked through at least 2 months of shows, rarely taking time off, and making sure to play at least 2 shows a weekend, trying to keep at least 18 shows on the roster at all times. Most recently, they played 100 shows in 2009 not including open mics and interviews and were the winners of the Best Local Acoustic Band POSTY award for 2009.
This year Melody and Tyler are planning a tour through Los Angeles with Nicole “Kole” Christensen around the ASCAP music expo in April and are performing at the Utica Arts and Music Festival in New York in September.
