In this cinéma vérité-style pseudo-documentary, a group of draft dodgers and counterculture youth are banished to the desert, where they are detained and made to play a bizarre game resembling capture the flag. Almost forty years later, Punishment Park resonates eerily with our contemporary political climate. Directed by Peter Watkins (1971), this film is rated “R” for violence and language. Rocky Anderson, former mayor of SLC and executive director of High Road for Human Rights, will conduct a post-film discussion.

The Salt Lake Children’s Choir, Ralph B. Woodward, director, is now scheduling auditions (for its 30th anniversary year) for talented new members from ages 9 through 15. No special preparation is required, all though some instrumental background is very helpful. The choir is a prize-winner in international competition and has long been regarded by choral professionals as one of the finest ensembles of its kind in America. It emphasizes correct vocal development, artistic sensitivity and the use of the world’s outstanding vocal literature (both classical and multi-cultural). Its performances are in the area’s premier concert settings, and it can also be heard on local and national classical radio broadcasts. A zombie walk is an organized public gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes. Usually taking place in an urban center, the participants make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls in a somewhat orderly fashion often limping their way towards a public space.
Everyone in Salt Lake Dresses as a Zombie and walks from meeting point to destination in Salt Lake… This ALL AGES event is FREE!!! Just show up as a zombie… the point is to fake a Zombie Attack on the city.
