In what is sure to be the biggest rock event this summer, Britain’s greatest arena rock band Def Leppard will join forces with Poison and special guest Cheap Trick for a 40-city North American Tour set to hit West Valley City’s USANA Amphitheatre on August 25, 2009.
The Ogden Chili Cook-Off and Fiesta celebrate the diversity and commonalities of the Ogden and Northern Utah communities. We would like to invite you to participate in a Community and Cultural Celebration.
National Hispanic Heritage Month begins September 15th and is the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries—Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico declared its independence on September 16th, and Chile on September 18th. Latino/Hispano communities honor those who fought for and won their freedom then, and who continue to do so now, with a day of Fiesta, delighting in the richness of the foods, arts, crafts, and music that they enjoy.
We are bringing the community together with Ogden’s First Annual Chili Cook-Off, inviting local Fire Fighters and Law enforcement agencies to compete in our “Five Alarm” special category. The Fiesta will be featuring performances by local children’s groups, school groups, and professional musicians and visual artists. And providing local vendors an opportunity to display and sell various textiles, arts & crafts, and food representing various cultural groups throughout the Ogden/Northern Utah area. Enjoy a Vintage Car Show (Car Show Entry Forms attached below), Fashion Show displaying local boutique wares, and unique local designer clothing lines.
The day will end with a concert performance by Del Castillo. “This Austin, Texas-based band has developed a huge regional following through their unique merger of flamenco music and rock. Since forming in 2001, the sextet has won a total of 10 Austin Music Awards, while also touring with Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys, Ozomatli, and Willy Nelson.” Del Castillo has also performed in the soundtracks for “Spy Kids 3D: Game Over”, “Kill Bill, Vol.2,” and “Once Upon a Time in Mexico.”
The event will also include community outreach to young local artists for the creation of the signature artwork to commemorate the event. As well as intern opportunities for local college students to learn and participate in various aspects of the event production.
In accordance with our company mission, we are pleased to announce that a percentage of the net proceeds raised at this event will benefit Weber State University Scholarship Foundations and Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College.

Groovefest American Music Festival is Cedar City, Utah’s premiere all music festival and has gotten bigger and better since it’s beginning in 2002! The family-oriented event runs annually the third weekend of June at the Cedar City Main Street Park and other venues in the historic downtown.
Since 2002, Groovefest has grown from its humble beginnings as a small handful of music lovers gathered for a few hours to hear music in a back parking lot, to a major four-day festival event with over 30,000 in attendance. Festival-goers come to Cedar City from all over the United States to hear and see performers from all over the world.
The Groovefest crew and volunteers transform the park into a full-fledged celebration of outdoor music and fun. Vendor booths selling food, art and gifts set-up and as well as a kid’s corner with inflatable rides. Two stages host over fourteen national touring acts and several local musicians for two days of music beginning at noon and continuing until 11:00 PM both Friday and Saturday.
The Groovefest American Music Festival is a five day festival that is dedicated to American music, whether it is Blues & Folk, Bluegrass & Country Western, Americana, Jazz, Jam… well, the list goes on.
Summer Concert Series is on the front lawn every Saturday night throughout the summer. Concerts are FREE and begin at 7:00 PM. Dinner on the Lawn is available before the concerts and is served from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
The Love Your Body race was created five years ago by Wasatch Woman magazine for women who care about their health, fitness, community, friends, and families. By treating yourself well, you’re able to achieve your personal best and be an inspiration to others. Be part of the largest women-only run in Utah. Over 2000 participants are expected to be in attendance at this event. Part of the proceeds will go to the new Thanksgiving Point children’s museum, The Museum of Natural Curiosity. We’ll also be making a donation to the Girl Scouts of Utah.
The 10k run and 6K (3.72 miles) run/walk, will include a portion of the beautiful Gardens at Thanksgiving Point. The course will be flat and fast and will be the perfect run to finish the season if you are looking to set a final personal record. You will establish healthy fitness habits going into fall and winter by training for this event and you’ll feel great for participating. We encourage you to bring your families along for support. There will be plenty for the kids and family to do at Electric Park where we will start and finish the race.
