Chase Kroesche and the band VIA

VIA — a Utah based band which has three high school students from Olympus,VIA the Band, Rock Music, Mo's Bar & Grill, Salt Lake City, Utah Hillcrest, Rowland Hall and one recent Olympus graduate —placed third overall in the nationwide SchoolJam USA Battle of the Bands in Anaheim, Calif., in January, 2011.

As a School of Rock West Coast Touring All-Star, Chase has performed all over the west, as well as with Earl Slick, guitarist for David Bowie, and Napoleon Murphy Brock, of Frank Zappa fame. Jessica Lea Mayfield

Jessica Lea Mayfield, Singer Songwriter, Folk Rock Music, Kilby Court, Salt Lake City, UtahMayfield first performed with her family bluegrass band One Way Rider at the age of 8. They began touring as a family band, boarding a 1956 tour bus (once belonging to Bill Monroe, Kitty Wells, and Ernest Tubb) and headed south from Ohio to Tennessee. At age 11, Jessica began playing guitar and writing songs. She asked her brother David to show her a few chords, and then she started using those chords to write her own songs.

Jessica got her first break at the Europe Gyro in Kent, Ohio playing for tips and free pizza every Monday. The place is known for its rough and unforgiving crowd and the experience toughened her act up considerably. For this residency, she had a fresh batch of songs she had just written after a breakup with her first boyfriend. It was then that she realized she had somewhere to channel her sadness: into her music.

Luke Bulla (Lyle Lovett), Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek) and Glen Phillips

WPA is an expandable collective, with Luke Bulla (Lyle Lovett), Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek) and Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket) at its core.

Works Progress Administration takes its name from FDR’s 1939 New Deal initiative, which put millions to work making buildings, bridges, theater, art and music. The original WPA was rooted in the values of community and creativity, and helped to keep the fire of human dignity burning through the darkest years of the Great Imposters.

WPA was born out of the musical community surrounding the legendary LA club, Largo. The members of the band had known and admired each other for years, and found themselves with a strong batch of unrecorded songs, a little down time, and a collective feeling that it might be a good idea to put something on tape.

The Gorgeous Hussies

With The Wailing O’Sheas

In a music-scene full of angst and over-production, The Gorgeous Hussies’ atypical take on alternative pop-rock is refreshing and infectious as they weave off-the-wall riffs, catchy melodies and danceable beats. The trio speaks to their audience the best way they know how: solid, melodically focused rock tunes, inspired arrangements, down-to-earth lyrics and clever live improvisation through a unique live performance.

The Gorgeous Hussies have been met with much fanfare from press outlets throughout the different regions they’ve toured. Newspapers, radio, and television stations have all been both gracious and enthusiastic in promoting and showcasing this grassroots band and have spread the word to their audience about The Gorgeous Hussies’ upbeat and rock-driven live show.

Since the summer of 2006 this Salt Lake City based rock outfit has been tirelessly touring and entertaining audiences at venues throughout the western United States and don’t show any signs of slowing down.

Nitefall

NiteFall is one of the hottest, rock/dance bands on the Wasatch front. They take pride in recreating the big, “Arena-Rock” sound of such classic bands as Journey, Styx, Boston and many others. Throw in some standard dance and funk tunes, and these guys can bring the house down wherever they play!

NiteFall’s high energy stage performance, coupled with killer vocal harmonies are reminiscent of the big rock bands from the seventies and eighties.

These talented guys take their sound very seriously. NiteFall’s blistering vocals, hard-edged guitars and dead-on keyboards will keep you coming back for more. This is one band you don’t want to miss!
