Mystic Hot Springs presents Wisebird Band

Wisebird Band, Rock Music, Mystic Music, Mystic Hot Springs, Sevier County, Utah, ConcertWisebird’s recently released self-titled album is a faithful testament to the band’s affinity for the roots of American music. The album captures the organic sound of Wisebird’s heralded live performances. With astonishing musicianship and a passion for song craft, Wisebird takes their audience on a journey–from the up-tempo, second line rhythm of “Immortal Blues” to the gospel-stomp of “Hell” to the gritty funk of “Daylight in the Swamp”. The impressive caliber of this ‘group on the rise’ is attributed to their years of hard work and dedication, which they continually bring to the table. Wisebird individually and collectively has shared the bill with such distinguished national acts as The Derek Trucks Band, The Doobie Brothers, Hot Buttered Rum, The Avett Brothers and many more. Wisebird has played shows from coast to coast, and has been warmly received at festivals such as Desert Rocks, Wakarusa and Las Tortugas. The band continues to garner new fans everywhere they go. With a well-earned popularity in the Western and Northern regions, Wisebird is currently digging their heels into the roots of the Austin music scene and delivering their addictive rhythmic vibes throughout the South and beyond. Hands-down; Wisebird is a show not to be missed.

The Wayne Hoskins Band at Sundance 2011

The Wayne Hoskins Band at Sundance Film Festival 2011, Park City, Utah, Acoustic Rock, Rock Music, Ogden, Salt Lake City, UtahJoin The Wayne Hoskins Band at the House of Blues Foundation Room as part of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.  This Utah Born winner of the 2009 for best Utah Rock Band will be an event you won’t want to miss.

The Wayne’s resume includes live performances at THE SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL, two invitations to the exclusive Acoustic All Stars Festival in Park City, Utah, the Promenade Music Festival in Boise, Idaho and the Project Green River Music Festival. The Wayne was also a featured artist at the Utah State Fair.

Most recently, The Wayne Hoskins Band performed with SAFETYSUIT, as seen on VH1’s Top 20 Countdown, to a crowd of over 1,000+ excited fans. One fan had this to say about the show: “The Wayne Hoskins Band was AMAZING! I really enjoyed their music!” (–Ashlee from Provo, Utah)

Influenced by The Frames, Justin Currie and Todd Thibaud, The Wayne falls into a cross-genre; compared to Counting Crows, Ray LaMontagne, The Fray, Lifehouse and Daughtry, the best way to describe The Wayne might simply be – classically good.

Marshall Tucker Band

The Peppermill Concert Hall presents the Marshall Tucker Band Saturday March 26, 2011 at 7pm.

Marshall Tucker Band, Wendover, Nevada, Peppermill Concert Hall, Southern Rock, Classic Rock Music, Salt Lake City, UtahThe Marshall Tucker Band is an American Southern rock band originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina. The band’s blend of rock, rhythm and blues, jazz, country, and gospel[1] helped establish the Southern rock genre in the early 1970s. While the band had reached the height of its commercial success by the end of the decade, the band has recorded and performed continuously under various lineups for nearly 40 years.

The original lineup of the Marshall Tucker Band, formed in 1972, included lead guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter Toy Caldwell (1947–1993), keyboard player and vocalist Doug Gray (b. 1948), flutist Jerry Eubanks (b. 1950), rhythm guitarist George McCorkle (1946–2007), drummer Paul Riddle (b. 1953), and bassist Tommy Caldwell (1949–1980). They signed with Capricorn Records and in 1973 released their first LP, The Marshall Tucker Band. After Tommy Caldwell was killed in an automobile accident in 1980, he was replaced by bassist Franklin Wilkie. Most of the original band members had left by the mid-1980s to pursue other projects. The band’s lineup as of 2009 consists of Gray on vocals, guitarist Stuart Swanlund, keyboard player and flutist Marcus James Henderson, guitarist Rick Willis, bassist Pat Elwood, and drummer B.B. Borden.

Blonde Redhead

Blonde Redhead’s noisy, dissonant guitars, alternate tunings, and quiet, stilted lyrics have often been compared to early Sonic Youth. After randomly meeting at an Italian restaurant in New York, Japanese art students Kazu Makino and Maki Takahashi and Italian twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace formed the band in 1993. The name was taken from a song by the ’80s no wave band DNA. __by Tracy Frey
