Bonnie Raitt & Taj Mahal

Debuting in 1971, Bonnie Raitt immediately emerged as a critical favorite, applauded not only for her soulful vocals and thoughtful song selection but also for her guitar prowess. Bonnie Raitt, Country Music, Blues Music, Musical ArtistContinuing her run as a critic’s darling throughout her illustrious career, Raitt has recently put out her 18th album, which marks another brave and exhilarating step in a legendary body of work that has resulted in multiple Grammys and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With all that she has accomplished, Bonnie Raitt has become an institution in American music.

Taj Mahal has always shown a keen musical intellect and curiosity about the potential of the blues, and over the years he has boldly taken it to new places: to reggae, to sunny Calypso, to India, and even to its deep roots in West Africa. With a career spanning more than four decades, the full breadth of Taj Mahal’s talent and ambition is an awesome spectacle when witnessed live.

Harmed – Art Gallery Exhibit

Harmed, a body work by artist Stephanie Wilde (Boise, ID) is about the corporate greed of the few and its devastating effects on the many. She began this series of intimately detailed ink, acrylic and gold leaf works as a response to idle gossip in her backyard: a local corporate CEO misused his power in the mid 1990’s and the scandal made national headlines. Perplexed, Wilde wondered how this individual lost his moral compass. Considering the corporate downfall of companies since Wilde began this body of work, this is a question many of us find ourselves asking of today’s corporate leaders. Depicting the debauchery and excess of those in power as they control and manipulate circumstanced and others, Harmed is about loss: moral, financial and perhaps most disheartening, loss of faith in the corporate world.
