In this Young Company one-hour adaptation for families, audiences are invited to enjoy Shakespeare’s last, and some say, greatest play. After a magician-King and his daughter are banished to an island inhabited by fairies, they are provided a chance to return home. Before they do, however, they must negotiate between forgiveness and revenge, magic and power, betrayal and love. We welcome you to this production that shows us that we are all “such stuff as dreams are made on.”

Cascada is an award-winning German eurodance group. They are most famous for their hit singles “Everytime We Touch” which won them a World Music Award in 2007 as well as becoming the group’s first number one single, “What Hurts the Most” which stormed the charts in 2008, and “Evacuate the Dancefloor” which recently became a UK number one. So far the group has sold an estimated 13 million copies of their three albums worldwide. Cascada consists of English-German singer Natalie Horler, and Record producers DJ Manian and Yanou.
Natalie Horler was born on September 23, 1981. As the front line singer, she is often presented as Cascada, as opposed to the entire band. When she was just 26, she worked for a number of various DJs. She provided vocals for dance act 2 Vibez with their song “Sometimes”, which was released on October 8, 2004. Eventually, she met Yann Peifer and Manuel Reuter . Natalie was born in Bonn, Germany. Horler’s parents are English, thus she speaks fluent English with an English accent and states that she has enjoyed a ‘very English upbringing’.
Imagine Ballet Theater (IBT), an Ogden-based ballet company in residence at Peery’s Egyptian Theater, is proud to present an evening of traditional Spanish dance with Calo Flamenco: Ballet de Martin Gaxiola.
Calo Flamenco not only shows audiences the powerful and passionate dance form, but also the many vibrant and charged aspects that go hand in hand with the dancing: the music, singing, and costumes that accompany the dancers on stage create a vivid scene of Spanish culture and life.
Artistic director, Martin Gaxiola, created Calo Flamenco in 2003, and the group has toured extensively throughout the United States with great success, including such dance hubs as New York City. With over 15 talented dancers and musicians, Calo Flamenco stands as one of the largest professional flamenco companies in the nation.
Returning to Ogden to open the 2009-20 Cultural Affairs season are Irish fiddle virtuoso, Martin Hayes, and American guitarist, Dennis Cahill. The duo has garnered international renown for taking traditional Irish music to the very edge of the genre, holding listeners spellbound with slow-building, fiery performances.
Martin Hayes is regarded as one of the most extraordinary talents to emerge in the world of Irish traditional music. His unique sound, his mastery of his chosen instrument – the violin – his acknowledgement of the past and his shaping of the future of the music, combine to create an astonishing and formidable artistic intelligence. He is the recipient of major national and international awards: most recently the prestigious Gradam Ceoil, Musician of the Year 2008 from the Irish language television station TG 4; previously Man of the Year from the American Irish Historical Society; Folk Instrumentalist of the Year from BBC Radio; a National Entertainment Award (the Irish ‘Grammy’); six All-Ireland fiddle championships – before the age of nineteen – and cited by the Irish Sunday Tribune as one of the hundred most influential Irish men and women in the fields of entertainment, politics and sports in the year 2000, as well as one of the most important musicians to come out of Ireland in the last fifty years.
Thanksgiving Point, a scenic cultural gathering place, will offer its 55-acre garden and other property venues as a canvas to more than 30 local artists in its annual Plein Air Festival, Sept. 8-10.
