The Davis Arts Council is proud to announce the first annual Maize Days Festival on September 11th and 12th located in the beautiful Layton Commons Park. We would like to extend an invitation for you to join us in what we expect will become the premier community arts festival in the area!
The festival will offer a variety of opportunities and activities for everyone in attendance and will draw a large audience from Layton, Davis County, and the surrounding area. The event will feature a farmers market, children’s art yard, arts & crafts booths, food vendors, and entertainment on the Ed Kenley stage.
Festivities will begin Friday afternoon and continue Saturday with the McKay-Dee Hospital Foundation Classic Race 5K, 10K, and 2 mile walk at 8:00 AM.
Maize Days will close with a special concert by VOICE MALE at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater on Saturday evening at 7:00 PM.

The event will run from 4 to 6 p.m. and will include 4 learning stations, a video, and treats. The categories of the learning stations include math, geography, reading and writing, and art. Children are able to come in at any time and rotate through the stations as they please, free of charge.
Lincoln Elementary School and the Utah Museum of Fine Arts have creatively collaborated to creat the exhibit ‘Community: Eat, Work, Play.’ With the guidance of UMFA educators, the students have created large scale murals that will be displayed in the education gallery at the museum.
