Dethklok is both a fictional death metal band featured in the Adult Swim animated program Metalocalypse, created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha, and a virtual band created to perform the band’s music in live shows. The band is sometimes cited as an example of “comedy rock” on par with bands such as GWAR and Spinal Tap. The first Dethklok album was released on September 25, 2007, entitled The Dethalbum. The music heard on Metalocalypse is performed by Brendon Small, with others as needed. Small and drummer Gene Hoglan performed on the album. The album debuted at #21 on the Billboard Top 200 list.

The dance-jam band has been playing for almost a decade, making new fans and pleasing old ones each and every time. The Daily Utah Chronicle writes: “No matter how you put it, Stonefed is unique. Comparisons are hard to make, yet Stonefed, Galactic and Maceo all have a common trait – high energy.”

“I’m gonna share with you a vision that I had, cause I love you. And you feel it. You know all that money we spend on nuclear weapons and defense each year, trillions of dollars, correct? Instead — just play with this — if we spent that money feeding and clothing the poor of the world — and it would pay for it many times over, not one human being excluded — we can explore space together, both inner and outer, forever in peace. Thank you very much. You’ve been great, I hope you enjoyed it.”

Zack Parrish with the Huckleberries plays bottleneck-style blues standards on national steel guitar and sings with a reedy, no-nonsense voive. He sports a handlebar mustache and dances with broad angular moves, attracting a crows wherever he plays.
