Cycle Fest

Recent developments in the XTRM AMA Pro Racing Supermoto Championship will put added emphasis on this weekend’s headline event in the third annual Cycle Fest presented by Bully Dog Technologies at Miller Motorsports Park.

Series organizers have announced that the scheduled season finale for the XTRM AMA Pro Racing Supermoto Championship at California’s Mammoth Mountain on September 20 has been canceled, and that this weekend’s event at Miller Motorsports Park will now be a season-ending double-header event. All three divisions (Supermoto Lites, Supermoto Premier and Supermoto Unlimited) will have two feature races on Sunday.

This will add more excitement to what was already going to be an action-packed weekend for two-wheeled enthusiasts.

On Saturday and Sunday, the historic racing machines of the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) will host the Bonneville Vintage Grand Prix on the East Course of the main track. Among the highlights will be a Le Mans-start race for Honda CB160s featuring former World Superbike Champion Doug Polen, and the always-amazing two-man sidecars, with the passenger (known as “the monkey”) shifting their body from side to side, sometimes hanging completely off the machine, to maximize traction through the corners.

While AHRMA is racing on the East Course, Miller Motorsports Park’s own amateur motorcycle road racing series, the Plaza Cycle Masters of the Mountains, will race on the West Course, featuring some of the top contemporary amateur racers from throughout the western United States.

Joining the pro Supermoto riders at the Miller Karting Complex’s state-of-the-art Supermoto course will be an amateur event on Saturday featuring the XTRM AMA Amateur Supermoto Championship along with MMP’s local Utah Supermoto Championship.

Bicycle Hill Climb

It’s one of the oldest road bike races in the state of Utah, and it’s a tough one: approximately ten miles and 3,300 vertical feet. There will be great prizes, a band and a raffle. This is going to be a very busy day at Snowbird. Following the Bicycle Hill Climb riders will be the 1,000 Warriors and following them up the canyon will be the Tour of Utah. Oktoberfest also begins on this day at 11:30 a.m.

RACE COURSE:
Start: Swamp Lot, 8099 South 3500 East (Wasatch Blvd.)
Finish: Snowbird, Entry 2

Legacy Parkway Bike and Run

Please join us at the Hess Cancer Legacy Bike and Run, held on August 29, 2009. It includes a Half-Marathon, a 20-Mile Bike Tour, and a 2-Mile Fun Run. These three events will be held on the Legacy Parkway, which will be the first time the Parkway has been closed since opening last year. Registration is now open for this event!

The Hess Cancer Foundation, Inc (HCF) is a Utah-based public charity. HCF is all about helping those who need it most and keeping the donations they receive in the local community.

Many public charities have been organized to find a cure for cancer, but that isn’t our goal. We are instead focusing on providing financial assistance to those families that have been struck by cancer and weren’t financially prepared for it.

If you are a father or a mother, then you know how much your child means to you. When your child is diagnosed with cancer, everything changes — your life will change. If cancer steals your child from you, then your wish will be to tell the world what a perfect child you had. HCF only wants to help those parents that have faced such a tragedy do exactly that.
