Sundance Summer Theatre

Please join us for another great year of art and entertainment amidst the backdrop of Mt. Timpanogos at the Eccles Stage.

The Sundance Summer Theatre is proud to present, in partnership with Utah Valley University, The Fantasticks.

This popular musical centers around two fathers who, in an effort to make their children fall in love, erect a wall between their houses to keep them apart “since children never do what you want them to.” The plot works and the young couple fall in love only to discover their fathers’ scheme.  As a result, the two strike out into the world separately to find their own paths, which eventually lead them back to one another, more worldly wise and mature.

July 31st through August 22nd
Performances run every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.
Performances begin at 8 p.m.
Doors open at 7 p.m.

A special barbecue dinner is available before each

performance at 6:30 p.m. Cost of the barbecue is

$14 for individuals and $12 for groups

and may be purchased along with theatre tickets.

Concessions, consisting of limited snacks and

beverages, are also available for purchase.

Plein Air Festival

Thanksgiving Point, a scenic cultural gathering place, will offer its 55-acre garden and other property venues as a canvas to more than 30 local artists in its annual Plein Air Festival, Sept. 8-10. Painters and sculptors will spread out across the 300-acre space to create works of art in the open air where spectators can watch, interact and learn from their talent.

“Our Gardens have proved to be an inspiring venue for the local talent and we are pleased once again to offer the Gardens as well as our other inspiring venues Farm Country, the Museum of Ancient Life and Water Tower Plaza as subject matter for the artists,” said Blake Wigdahl, director of programming at Thanksgiving Point. “Plein air is an exercise in fine art for the artists as well as the spectators.”
