The Devil Whale w/ Red Jacket Mine

The first time I heard Brinton play was at Humpy’s [Anchorage, AK]…and I was blown away. He took the stage, played a couple chords, sang two notes, and completely silenced the crowd. He took charge of the room and by the end of his first song I seriously had butterflies. He is a killer lyricist, and also writes those melodies that get stuck in your head for days and days.

Anyone who has heard the music of Brinton Jones will agree that his songs are literature of the heart. Like a book bound by melody, harmony, and honesty, they unfold before you. Paragraphs become verses and chapters become choruses, leaving room for interpretation & relation. Brinton is an author as much as he is a songwriter. After you’ve heard his music and shut the book, you feel close to something that, before, felt so far away. You long to hear it again. Square Magazine

Tyrone Wells

Tyrone Wells has delivered an epic pop/rock album with his second major-label effort, Remain. Pursuing a more collaborative process and having added a more lush production to his singer-songwriter roots, the new album proves to be a great showcase for his powerful and emotional voice.

The Spokane, WA native’s desire to ‘open up the process’ found him traveling to London to work with a circle of songwriters/musicians who aligned with Wells’ musical direction. “Half of the album was done in London and the other half completed here in the states,” says Wells. “I didn’t know what kind of record I was going to make before I got to London, but something just seemed to click while I was there that really defined what I wanted to do with this album.” Invoking a cathartic creative process from the very beginning for Remain, the songwriter penned an astounding 60 songs for the record.

Romeo & Juliet

Romeo and Juliet, BYU, Brigham Young University, Theatre

There “never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.” In one of the Bard’s most-beloved plays, these “star-crossed lovers” are from two of Verona’s most powerful families. But the conflict between the houses of Montague and Capulet overwhelms the young couple’s attempted union and happiness, causing an entire city to contemplate the true cost of greed, power, and social standing.
